GonnawannaBAKEagin’ What: Are sports not your thing? Come bake with us! GonnawannaBAKEagin’ is an 8-week cooking and baking program designed to teach participants basic kitchen skills, safety, hygiene, and the joy of creating delicious treats! Throughout the program, bakers will learn how to: 🧁 Follow a recipe from start to finish 🥄 Measure and mix ingredients 🔪 Safely use kitchen tools and equipment 🧼 Practice proper kitchen hygiene and food safety 🍪 Bake and decorate a variety of treats 🧠 Follow directions and complete a sequence of steps 🤝 Work cooperatively in a shared kitchen 💪 Build independence and confidence in the kitchen Our bakers will work together to create a variety of delicious treats that will be sold at a FACT community bake sale held in conjunction with FACT’s Fall Family Fun Day/Trunk-or-Treat event. The bake sale date and event details will be announced once finalized. Prior baking experience is not necessary—all ability levels are welcome! Baking is staffed at approximately a 1:4–5 ratio, with one FACT staff member supporting four to five participants. Kitchen Safety Requirements: Because this program takes place in a working kitchen environment, participants must be able to understand and respect basic kitchen safety expectations, including the safe use of kitchen equipment and utensils. The kitchen may include sharp objects, hot surfaces, appliances, and limited/tight working spaces. Space is limited, and participants must be able to remain safe while using or working around kitchen equipment and utensils. FACT staff will provide appropriate support and supervision based on individual participant needs. Cost: $120 one-time registration fee Cooking and baking is offered at a flat fee with no discounts due to the cost of food, ingredients, and supplies needed each week.
