About This Activity

What makes a small object zoom ahead and a heavy one barely move? In this fun follow-up to Push Me, Pull Me, students will dig deeper into Newton’s Second Law by focusing on one key ingredient: mass. Through hands-on experiments, tests, and motion challenges, students will explore how the weight of an object affects how much force is needed to move it. They’ll compare light and heavy objects, build and test their own models, and discover how mass plays a big role in how things accelerate. Whether they're launching marbles or dragging loads, students will see that when it comes to motion, mass really does matter!
