Baylor TIP Camp for 4th-7th graders is a day camp option. Morning course offerings will run from 9am to noon, and afternoon courses run from 1:00 to 4:00pm. Lunch is included only with registration for BOTH morning and afternoon courses. Tabletop Game Engineering: Classics Reimagined Become a game designer as you imagine, design, and build your own tabletop games, from miniature golf courses and marble mazes to cardboard arcade games and more. You will follow the engineering design process as you ask questions, brainstorm ideas, create prototypes, test your designs, and improve them through iteration. As you build and play, you’ll explore real engineering and physics concepts like force, motion, angles, balance, and problem-solving. You’ll experiment with materials, troubleshoot challenges, and learn how small design changes can make a big difference in how a game works. Collaboration and creativity are key as you work with classmates to give feedback and refine your designs. The class will close with a game showcase, where you will present, explain, and play games designed by you and your peers. By the end, you will have more than just games to play. You’ll have the skills of an engineer: curiosity, persistence, and the confidence to turn ideas into something real.
