The Ecology Club is a service-based program for youth ages 12-17 who are passionate about nature and want to make a meaningful impact in their community.
This club chapter, centered at Fountain Rock Nature Center, focuses on environmental stewardship and outdoor education through hands on projects that support and enhance the center's outdoor classroom and surrounding trails.
Participants will take part in conservation efforts such as removing invasive plant species, planting and caring for native vegetation, and maintaining trails. These activities support local wildlife and help keep the outdoor classroom safe, attractive, and more accessible to visitors of all ages. Along the way, teens will gain hands-on experience in land management, build a deeper understanding of local ecosystems, and develop leadership, teamwork, and a strong ethic of environmental stewardship.
Hours served in this program may count toward Student Service Learning (SSL) hours required by your middle or high school. Check with your SSL Coordinator for approval.
Whether you are interested in ecology, enjoy working outdoors, or want to give back to a place that serves others, the Ecology Club at Fountain Rock Nature Center offers a rewarding opportunity to grow, serve, and make a difference.
This program requires registration by a parent/guardian and is free.
