Geared towards anyone who is new to cheerleading or wants to build a strong foundation in the sport. This program welcomes both male and female athletes of all experience levels (including absolute beginners)
Program Focus: Frederick County Cheer Fundamentals is designed to introduce young athletes to the exciting world of cheerleading in a safe, supportive, and fun environment. Our experienced instructors will guide participants through the essential building blocks of cheerleading, focusing on:
* Basic Movements and Positions: Learning correct arm placements, body positions, and transitions.* Cheers and Chants: Developing vocal projection, rhythm, and teamwork through engaging cheers. Jumps: Mastering fundamental jumps like toe-touches, front hurdles, and side hurdles with proper technique and safety.* Basic Tumbling Skills: Introducing foundational tumbling elements such as forward rolls, backward rolls, and cartwheels (with appropriate progressions and safety measures).* Introduction to Stunting: Learning the very basic principles of partner work and introductory stunts with a strong emphasis on safety and proper spotting techniques.* Routines and Coordination: Combining learned skills into simple routines to develop coordination, memory, and performance skills.* Confidence Building and Teamwork: Fostering a positive and encouraging atmosphere where athletes can build self-assurance, learn the importance of teamwork, and express themselves through cheer.* Develop a solid understanding of basic cheerleading skills and techniques.* Improve physical fitness, coordination, flexibility, and strength.* Build confidence, self-esteem, and a sense of accomplishment.* Learn the importance of teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship.* Provide a safe and fun introduction to the sport of cheerleading.* Prepare athletes for potential participation in school cheer teams or further cheerleading programs.
You can sign up for one, two or all three days of the week!
This program is geared towards individuals with higher support needs. If participant needs personal care assistance, parent/guardian must remain on site.
