Ever wonder how to play Didgeridoo? Now’s your chance to find out how to play the world's oldest musical instrument from Indigenous Australia taught by Global Didgeridoo Maverick and Frederick newcomer, Pitz Quattrone. Topics covered will include basic drone, pitch bending, and rhythmic patterns through tongue movements, vocalization accompanying the drone, and, yes, circular breathing! Over the last 30-plus years, Pitz has traveled the globe performing, hand-crafting, and developing a fun, easy-to-learn curriculum on playing the Didgeridoo. This class is open to beginners, intermediate, and seasoned players. Also, studies (BMJ 2006) show that "playing the Didgeridoo is an effective alternative treatment for relieving sleep apnea." Students are also welcome to bring their own Didges. Pitz will have his handcrafted, easy-to-play Didges on hand for students to explore and play during class, with the option to purchase one at a discounted rate if you’re inspired to keep the music going at home.
