About This Activity
In this class, students embark on Mars Mission 2041, an adventure where they design and build a sustainable colony on the Red Planet using Minecraft Education. Working in teams, they’ll use the MakeCode coding environment to create structures, automate systems, and solve engineering challenges inside their world. No prior Minecraft coding experience is required — we introduce the tools and concepts along the way so everyone can jump in. Students will also explore real-world ideas like the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities as they design their colony.
