Step into the world of superheroes, villains, and incredible stories- this is your chance to create the next big comic! Students will dive into every step of the comic-making process, from brainstorming characters and worlds to sketching, inking, and adding vibrant colors. Along the way, they’ll explore the history of comics and discover how different publishers, from Marvel and DC to independent creators, shaped the art form. In class, students will practice creative and script writing, experiment with character design and world building, and bring their stories to life through thumbnailing, storyboarding, and page layout. They’ll gain hands-on experience with penciling, inking, and coloring, while also learning industry terms and exploring how to share their work both in print and online. By the end of the course, students will walk away with original comic projects and a toolkit of skills to keep developing their storytelling. 7 Wednesdays September 23; October 7, 14, 21, 28; November 4, 18 Grades 1-3 Enrollment: minimum-5, maximum 10
