About This Activity
Description
This summer performance group is for classical guitarists ready to develop their musicianship, ensemble techniques, sight reading, and chamber music skills in a motivating group setting. We’ll learn to organize our musical ideas, refine musical sensitivity, listen more carefully, respond to musical cues with facility, and work as a musical team while playing fun music. This class includes an online learning component and culminates in an informal performance experience.
Please note: Students must have participated in private lessons or another guitar class at Levine. If not, please schedule a meeting with the Guitar Department Chair to determine levels. Participants should have a good understanding of rhythm, the ability to use free and/or rest stroke with ease, and be able to read fluently in at least first position.
