About This Activity
7/8th Grade Battle of the Books: The Battle of the Books is a statewide Alaskan reading motivation and comprehension program. The goals are to encourage and recognize students who enjoy reading, broaden reading interest, increase reading comprehension and promote academic excellence. Students will be reading a list of books, discussing them, and be quizzed on the content. September to December is open to all students. Classes will be conducted via zoom. Those interested in participating on a competitive team will continue to practice from January through February/March. Winners of the school competition will compete at a district level. Coaches will work with the competitive teams to determine continuing practice date/time/locations. Note: Advanced readers are permitted to compete with higher grade level teams but can not register for a team in a lower grade level than they are currently enrolled in with the school. No Max, Grades 7-8, Location will be via Zoom
