About This Activity
High School Battle of the Books: The Battle of the Books is a statewide Alaskan reading motivation and comprehension program. The goals are to encourage and recognize students who enjoy reading, broaden reading interest, increase reading comprehension and promote academic excellence. PLUS STUDENTS CAN EARN .5 HIGH SCHOOL CREDIT through the addition of assigned writing activities managed by the students parent. Students will be reading a list of books, discussing them, and be quizzed on the content. September to December is open to all students. Classes will be conducted via zoom. Those interested in participating on a competitive team will continue to practice from January through February/March. Winners of the school competition will compete at a district level. Coaches will work with the competitive teams to determine continuing practice date/time/locations. No Max, Grades 9-12, Location will be via Zoom
