Intermediate and Middle School-aged children are invited to participate in this hands-on program that teaches personal safety and life skills through three important community departments. April 25 will be held at the Waunakee Police Department, and the staff there will teach the kids about speed enforcement, crime scene processing, equipment demos & deployment, and special investigation. On May 2, participants gather at the Waunakee EMS station where they will get hands-on experience with bandaging & trauma care, CPR & respiratory skills, and ambulance & equipment use. May 9 will take place at the Waunakee Fire Department where firefighters will guide the kids through experiences with fire hoses, operations and recoil, search & rescue, donning of gear, and ariel truck operations. The finale will include a special collaboration of the three departments demonstrating their skills in a response situation.Registration begins March 1. Participants must be able to attend all three Saturdays to participate in this program. New attendees only. Fee includes a t-shirt and lanyard as well as lunch and snacks each day.
