Dye the Rainbow!SESSION 02 PMJune 15 - 19, 202612:30 - 3:00pmThe American Landscape: Art of the LandscapeDiscover the art of dyeing clothing and fabrics using natural ingredients you can find in your own home and yard. Learn how to use onion skins, turmeric, carrot tops, beans, avocadoes, flowers, and more to color cotton fabric with all the colors of the rainbow. Students will learn different techniques including solar dyeing, shibori and bundle dyeing to create a rainbow book of fabrics and cotton camp t-shirt.
This class is one week, runs Monday-Friday, and lasts 1.5 hours with a snack break outside, weather permitting. Please remember a water bottle, small snack, and wear clothes that can get messy.
To create a full-day camp experience, register for a different morning class and Lunch Bunch, our supervised lunch break in the Children's Garden.
Every week is different at Wayne Art Center's Summer Art Camp and class projects will change weekly to correspond with this year's camp theme -- Artists in the Making.
Medical, Emergency and Release Forms: All forms are to be completed through ePACT, a secure online emergency network. Once you complete registration, you will receive an email from ePACT that contains a link to create an account; click on the ePACT link and follow the instructions to complete all medical and emergency forms, which are required to attend camp.
