About This Activity
Girls in grades 1–6 from all communities are invited to join our Instructional Volleyball League, designed especially for beginners! This 6-week league focuses on teaching age-appropriate volleyball fundamentals including: serving, returning, scoring, spiking and most importantly — good sportsmanship Players will be placed on teams based on skill level, with final team assignments made by Community Education staff. No team or coach requests will be accepted. Out-of-district players are welcome, but school-based teams from outside WISD are not permitted in this instructional league. League Structure: * 1 practice per week (day/time/location set by the coach); Practice begins the week of October 27th * 1–2 games each Saturday; Games begin November 1st * No end-of-season tournament (instructional focus) ⚠️ Important Notes: Players may not change teams due to practice scheduling conflicts. No refunds will be issued for schedule conflicts. Registration fee includes a game day shirt. Want to Coach? Volunteers are welcome and encouraged! To coach, you must: * Submit an online volunteer application through the WISD website and email communityeducation@weatherfordisd.com to request coaching form * Complete the coaches Google form (preferably 2 weeks before registration closes) * Pass a background check If selected as a head coach, you’ll receive: * One free player registration A virtual coaches meeting will be announced at a later date. ➡️ Approved head coaches: Please call or email our office to receive your one-time-use registration coupon code. 📍Game Locations: Subject to change based on Weatherford ISD gym availability. ** No jewelry allowed during games. Medical ID bracelets are allowed during games.
