A Year Long Class, paid per semester. This class is designed for students who have mastered learning letter names and their sounds. They will learn how to blend letters together to make a word, what diagrams are, and various phonic skills. Scope and Sequence for Phonic 1 (Beginners) - Digraphs (th, sh, ch, qu, ck, wh) - Floss Rule - Compound Words - Initial Blends - Final Blends - ng and nk endings - Long vowel/Final Blends Word Families - Open and Closed Syllables - Syllable Division VC/CV - Syllable Division V/CV or VC/V - Suffix -ed - Silent E A new skill will be taught each week, but the pace (how fast or if review is needed) is based on students’ progress.
