Step behind the microphone and discover the magic of old-time radio! Students will bring Treasure Island to life as they follow young Jim Hawkins on a thrilling adventure filled with pirate treasure, mutiny, and high-seas excitement. Students will learn the art of voice acting by creating unique characters, using vocal expression, and telling stories without costumes or sets. They'll also explore the fun of "Foley" by creating live sound effects that bring the adventure to life. The session concludes with a live radio theater performance for family and friends. Prerequisites: ITT-1 & ITT-2 Instructor: Kyle & Kelsey Eberth CLASS ATTENDANCE POLICY Education is the core of Stage Kids’ programs—this is where kids develop most! Participation in a Stage Kids class is, therefore, a REQUIREMENT for participating in a show. Intro to Theater -1 (ITT-1) & Intro to Theater -2 (ITT-2) must be taken first. (Simultaneous participation in a show and a core class is allowed.) For ALL students who take ITT-1 & ITT-2, no more than TWO (2) classes can be missed throughout the duration of the class session in order to fulfill the core class requirement and earn eligibility to take elective classes in the future. If a student takes ITT-1 or ITT-2 and misses more than 2 classes during the session, they must retake the class at a future date. For show participants only, no more than TWO (2) classes can be missed throughout the duration of ANY class session in order to fulfill the class requirement for show participation. If more than two classes are missed, your child's eligibility for future shows may be impacted.
