The Teen Apprenticeship Program (TAP) begins with this 7-hour training class that helps launch students on the path of becoming theater professionals from choreography and stage management to backstage operations and beyond. After completing the class, “tappers” gain hands-on experience by applying, building a resume, and interviewing with the Artistic Director. They then intern with Stage Kids classes and productions. Upon completing all TAP requirements, tappers are eligible to be considered for paid positions on future Stage Kids staff teams. Instructor: Lana Bromiley Prerequisite: Age 14+, Completion of ITT-1 & ITT-2 and performed in at least one Spotlight Production OR Stage Teen Production. (Note: This class can fulfill the class requirement for participation in a Spotlight Production) CLASS/WORKSHOP ATTENDANCE POLICY: Education is the core of Stage Kids’ programs—this is where kids develop most! Participation in a Stage Kids class is, therefore, a REQUIREMENT for participating in a show. Intro to Theater -1 (ITT-1) & Intro to Theater -2 (ITT-2) must be taken first. (Simultaneous participation in a show and a core class is allowed.) For ALL students who take ITT-1 & ITT-2, no more than TWO (2) classes can be missed throughout the duration of the class session in order to fulfill the core class requirement and earn eligibility to take elective classes in the future. If a student takes ITT-1 or ITT-2 and misses more than 2 classes during the session, they must retake the class at a future date. For show participants only, no more than TWO (2) classes can be missed throughout the duration of ANY class session in order to fulfill the class requirement for show participation. If more than two classes are missed, your child's eligibility for future shows may be impacted.
