Tools of Heavy Metal
August 3-7
Camp runs from 12:00 to 3:00 Monday – Friday.
Trace the evolution of Metal through the decades, deconstructing the sub-genres that define the movement. Students will get hands-on with the essential elements of the sound, learning the iconic riffs that changed history and experimenting with the technical side of the genre. We will explore the "the tone," the intricate rhythms that drive the mosh pit, and the unique vocal techniques that define different styles. This camp isn't just about playing loud—it's about understanding the anatomy of a riff, the physics of distortion, and the cultural influences that made heavy metal a universal language of rebellion.
All students must bring their own water bottle and sunscreen to camp each day.
