About This Activity
Our Survivors program is a unique program for our older kids ages 8-12yrs who have learned to connect with nature and love the impact it has on their well-being. They appreciate the freedom to explore and engage with nature on a personal level. They will learn tracking skills, how to find a site and build a village, how to set and light a fire without a match, how to purify water and how to observe changes of the season through watching the change in nature, they will learn what plants in the forest are edible and which are not. They will build community, learn to cooperate and build confidence. Survivors is a 5 hour, 100% outdoor, nature immersion program that offers nature immersion experiences with a low adult/child ratio and small group sizes. Each day is filled with ample time to explore, learn authentic survival skills, build lasting friendships and develop a bond with nature that will serve a lifetime of well-being. The children are supported by experienced forest guides who understand the value of child-led play, inquiry based teaching and that building social skills is foundational to higher learning. This is a 34 week program with the weeks of Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and Easter off. There is a non-refundable deposit of $300 at registration and then 8 payments. The tuition fee includes the deposit. Tuition is not refundable and you are responsible for the entire tuition upon registration. Adventure awaits come play with us.
