About This Activity
Whether your children are too young to volunteer or you’re looking for a new way to entice your kids to read, reading to shelter animals is the perfect match. Children can bring their favorite book, grab a stool and read to our rescues. This program benefits both children and shelter animals by providing socialization for our rescues and reading practice for children in front of a non-judgmental audience. All new readers will need to attend a virtual orientation before they are able to read. If you are a returning reader please email HumaneEducation@yourspca.org for the current weekly sign-up.
