Leader-in-Training (LIT) is designed for students entering Grades 8 and 9 to further develop lifelong leadership skills. Throughout the program participants will develop effective communication, collaboration, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, along with practical strategies for navigating peer-to-peer dynamics. With a strong focus on teamwork and shared responsibility, participants will learn to support, motivate and lead one another through a variety of engaging activities and challenges. Enjoy outdoor activities including the low ropes course and have an opportunity to plan and lead games for some of our younger campers. Leave with a better understanding of yourself, others, and how you can apply what you've learned into your daily life. This program will build on the skills learned in the 'Junior Leader' program, but Junior Leader isn't a pre-requisite to participate in this program. Participants will also gain five volunteer/community service hours for this program. While most school don't recognize hours prior to Grade 10 towards this graduation requirement, they can be counted towards scholarship applications, service awards and future resumes. This is a full-day program.
