Welcome to the DEIA Youth Olympics! This joyful event celebrates all abilities through inclusive sports and activities that empower kids of all backgrounds, mobility levels, and health needs. Held at the local football field and adjacent areas, our Youth Olympics is designed to provide accessible, low-pressure opportunities for movement, fun, and connection. Format: Stations-based rotation every 15-20 minutes Athletes grouped by ability/age/comfort level Sports & Activities Plan 1. Track & Field Zone (Football Field Track) Wheelchair Dash / Guided Sprints – Short-distance races adapted to all mobility levels Javelin Throw (Foam or Pool Noodle) – Safe and fun for practicing coordination and throwing Obstacle Course – Tunnel crawls, balance beams, cones—adjusted for all needs 2. Goal Sports Zone (On the Field) Soccer Shootout – Larger goals, soft balls, and aides for positioning Lacrosse Toss – Scoop, cradle, and shoot into floor-level goals with adaptive sticks 3. Basketball Zone (Parking Lot – Hoops & Cones Setup) Free Throw Challenge – Adjustable hoops, various ball sizes Dribble Pathway – Cone courses to encourage movement at individual pace 4. Target & Precision Zone Bean Bag Toss / Cornhole – Great for upper body movement and hand-eye coordination Bowling Ramp – Rolling foam balls down ramps to knock pins 5. Teamwork & Play Zone (Rest Area with Shaded Tent) Parachute Games – Group play with colors, rhythm, and cooperation Bubble Station – Encourages sensory engagement and hand movement Story Station – Quiet corner with DEIA-themed stories and interactive board books Event Values Diversity: We celebrate every child’s uniqueness and background.
