About This Activity

Description

Help improve a forest preserve prairie or woodland by collecting seeds or removing nonnative plants. Ages 8 and up; under 18 with an adult. Free. To register by phone instead, call 630-206-9630 at least five days in advance (10 days by phone for groups of five or more).


After you register you'll receive an email with a link to a PDF with important workday instructions and a map. Please read everything carefully before attending. If you don't receive this email, contact the Forest Preserve District at 630-206-9630 or nrvolunteer@dupageforest.org.Volunteers under 18 cannot attend the workday alone. Minimally, there must be one adult for every two children ages 8-10, one adult for every eight children ages 11 to 13 and one adult for every 10 teens ages 14 to 17. (High school students can attend with a friend to fulfill this requirement.) Volunteer workdays cannot be applied to court-ordered community service.
