About This Activity
Students will create their own collage materials by painting colorful, textured papers using a variety of tools and techniques. After the papers dry, students will tear the painted paper to build layered landscapes. They will explore composition, foreground and background and how shapes and colors can represent elements like the sky, mountains, water, and trees. This class encourages experimentation, creative problem solving, and building artwork from materials students create themselves.
