About This Activity

Description

Join us for learning, discovery, and fun at the Community House this summer! Campers ages 6-12 yrs. old will be placed into small groups of 12 which will rotate through four special classes each day, taught by favorite local teachers! The program runs from 8:50am – 11:45am; each class will be 40 minutes.
Signing up with a friend? No problem – just make sure you register for the same program (Option A or Option B) and give the name of your friend at the appropriate prompt. (If you don't have a request, just enter "no request".) You may only request one friend, and only one-to-one mutual friend requests will be honored. Your child’s group and detailed schedule will be provided in early June.
The four classes included in Option B are:
Cooking Around the WorldInstructor: Christie GivenEach week we will explore food favorites from different countries around the world. Children will learn to use various lifelong skills such as weighing, measuring, time tracking, and other basic math skills all while making delicious meals.
Green Arts & CraftsInstructor: Julie RiceLet’s put a new spin on Reduce, Reuse, Recycle as we make a wide variety of fun projects using sculpture, sewing, paper mâché, drawing and painting, and other techniques. We can create bags, vases, mobiles, fridge magnets, candle holders, bookmarks, and more as we look to the recycling bin for inspiration – the possibilities are endless!
Sports & MoreInstructor: Dan OstenHave fun exploring a variety of different sports over the course of the summer! Each day, we’ll focus on a different activity with instruction and time to play! Sports will include soccer, ultimate frisbee, football, kickball, volleyball, and team handball.
Animals and the World Around ThemInstructor: Crystal RoelHave you ever noticed how cute a penguin’s waddle is? Or maybe you’ve wondered which animal’s eye is bigger than their brain? (Psst, it’s an ostrich!) Each week we’ll explore different unique animals that live on this planet through discussion, games/trivia, informational videos, jokes, crafts, and more!
