REGISTRATION FOR WOOSTER PLAYERS
Player is required to be enrolled in a Wooster School
PRACTICES/GAMES:
The Wooster High School Boys Varsity Coach & Players along with WSA will be leading skill-based practice sessions twice a week. The WHS Varsity Coach & WSA will conduct evaluations to help create balanced teams that put players in a position to succeed and grow their skills. 5th & 6th grade will practice on Mondays & Wednesdays from 6:30pm-7:30pm with the WHS Varsity Coach & WSA. Coaches are encouraged to attend & participate in these practices and help run the designed skills & drills. Volunteer coaches will have the option to schedule a 3rd practice session during the week to work with their team. The WHS Varsity Coach & WSA will be available to support coaches with practice plans or ideas if they should choose to use the 3rd practice session. Through this it will create an opportunity for youth players to be prepared as they progress through their soccer careers.
*Evaluations will take place the week of August 31st
Games take place Saturdays, September 19 - October 24 as scheduled between the hours of 8:00 am and 6:00pm. Games will take place at the Wooster Soccer Complex.
Make-Up Games: If any games should be cancelled, Saturday, October 31st will be the designated make-up date.
COACHES:
Parent Volunteer coaches are needed for this program. Any candidate for coaching must successfully pass a background check and be available to coach two nights a week and coach games on Saturdays. We are able to work around some requests for game times when the schedule is completed. Any interested individuals can include their names and contact information in the registration process. And can contact the Recreation Coordinator in charge of youth soccer Nick Reinhart- nreinhart@woosteroh.com.
REQUESTS:
If you would like to make a special request (coach preference, teammates, etc.) please do so when completing this registration. Requests will be used to form teams.
JERSEYS:
Jerseys are new as of Fall 2023. All players are required to have a Wooster Recreation jersey, but purchasing a new jersey each season is not required.
Registration Deadline- August 16 or until full
Child being registered must be in enrolled in 5th or 6th grade during the 2026/2027 School Year.
There will be NO Pre-Season Clinics this season. Practices will start with coaches as soon as rosters are made.
Please note that if you have not completed and turned in a Youth Participation Waiver for your child within the last year, you will need to do so before the program starts.
Participation waivers can be accessed by opening the following link in a new window Youth Waiver Link and scrolling down to the participation waivers section to fill out and submit the waiver online.
The form is valid for one year from the date it is signed and can be used for multiple programs offered through the Wooster Recreation and Community Center.
Lindsay's Law NOTICE - No child will be placed on a roster for ANY sports offered by the Wooster Recreation and Community Center until a form is on file with our department.
