Encaustic Painting and Collage Workshop (1 session) High School - Adult | All Skill Levels Instructor: Juliette Montague Saturday, April 18 10:00am – 4:00pm Learn basic encaustic collage assemblage and image making techniques to expand your mixed media art making! Encaustic painting, also known as hot wax painting, is a form of painting that involves heated encaustic wax medium to which colored pigments have been added. The molten mix is applied to a surface- usually prepared wood, though canvas and other materials are sometimes used. Most supplies are provided by the instructor- except the wooden surface. Students need to bring their own wooden substrate(s). Please no larger than 11” x 14”. Students are also encouraged to bring their own personal collage materials.
