Mother Earth: Exploring Earth, Woman, & Words (1 session) (Fall #2) Adult | All Skill Levels Instructors: Cynthia Amoah (Fall #2) Saturday, October 25 10:00am – 12:00pm This workshop explores the powerful relationship between nature, environment, and language, inspired by Lily Glass’ Quantifying Care series. Participants will be encouraged to reflect on their personal connections to the natural world through guided writing prompts focused on the senses and self-expression. If possible, we’ll begin with a brief walk or accessible outdoor experience with participants to engage with nature’s textures, sounds, and imagery. These sensory observations will serve as the foundation for personal reflection and our creative writing. Participants will then engage in writing exercises designed to transform their original poems into concrete poetry, where the form of the poem mirrors the writing content. They’ll use natural shapes and symbols to give physical structure to their words, allowing the Earth to shape their writing both thematically and visually. FEE: $25 Master Classroom, Main Level Approx. Cost of Materials: $5
