Natural Dyes: Creating Eco Friendly Cloth Gift Wrap (1 session) High School - Adult | Beginner Instructor: Karin Weston Saturday, December 13 1:00pm – 5:00pm In this 4-hour workshop, participants will gain a basic knowledge of working with natural dyes, then experiment dyeing cotton and silk cloth, and learn how to use their dyed fabric for an eco-friendly gift wrap. Several different methods of furoshiki, the Japanese art of wrapping items in a single piece of cloth, will be demonstrated so that participants can later use their dyed cloth to wrap holiday gifts. The beautiful wrapping then becomes a gift itself! FEE: $70 Painting/Drawing Classroom, 2nd Level Materials included in the cost of workshop, provided by instructor. Materials Note: To help protect clothes, participants can bring an apron (optional). Plastic gloves will be provided but participants may bring their own pair of reusable plastic gloves if preferred.
