Camp UBU is a summer camp designed specifically for Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing children who have completed 2nd–8th grade during the 2025–2026 academic year. We proudly serve families from Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, and Iowa. Camp UBU will be held at a NEW location in Zumbro Falls, Minnesota, offering a safe, scenic setting along the bluffs of the Zumbro River. Many Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing children have limited opportunities to spend time with peers and adult role models who share similar communication access and lived experiences. Camp UBU provides a fully accessible, language-rich, and inclusive environment where campers can communicate freely, build confidence, and form meaningful connections. The camp is led and staffed by Deaf and Hard of Hearing adults, ensuring campers are supported by role models who understand their experiences firsthand. Our program is intentionally designed to support social-emotional growth, self-advocacy, leadership skills, teamwork, and independence, all within a fun and structured camp setting. Campers participate in a variety of supervised activities, including outdoor adventure, recreational sports, and creative experiences such as archery, zip lining, high ropes, river tubing, crafts, hiking, indoor climbing, basketball, laser tag, and more. Campers stay in modern, air-conditioned, and accessible cabins, providing comfort and beautiful views in a natural setting of the Zumbro River bluffs. The safety and well-being of your child is our top priority. All Camp UBU staff complete background checks and participate in extensive training prior to camp to ensure a safe, supportive, and positive experience for every camper. A registered nurse will be on site throughout camp to support camper health and safety.
