This swim team program is located in the town of Ajo which is two and a half hours southwest of Tucson.
The Pima County Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation Novice Summer Swim Team Program provides a fun, exciting, and rewarding swimming experience for all children ages 5 to 18. Be part of the Pima County swimming tradition and join the program today!
- Once registration is complete, this is your assigned team for the summer (switching teams during the summer is not allowed).
- Once a team has reached capacity, registration is closed. There are no waiting lists. Should an opening occur before the June 8th registration deadline, the spot will be made available online on a first come first serve basis.
- A partial refund of $10 may be issued if participant withdraws before the program registration deadline of June 8th. No refunds will be issued after June 8th.
Swim Team Pre-Requisites:
Complete without stopping:
- Jump or roll into water over head
- Resurface and tread water for 1 minute
- Swim 50 yards, (2 laps), unassisted, using any arm or leg movement on the front or back

Swim Team participant must pass a mandatory swim test. A full refund may be requested if participant does not pass the swim test. See swim team packet for the swim test requirements.
The Pima County Swim Team Program Packet is posted online or you may access it in the class description listed for this activity. It is the responsibility of each participant/parent/guardian to read the swim team packet prior to participating in the program. The swim team packet covers all policies, procedures and rules regarding the program.
