About This Activity
Late Fall Sunday Afternoon Seasoned Sailing is a seven week part-day camp designed for returning or intermediate sailors who have already mastered the basics. This program begins with a refresher of the skills covered in Discover Sailing and then introduces new, exciting skills such as overboard recovery and sailing backwards. Sailors learn to steer using their body weight and sails, control speed and heel, and navigate a course—all while deepening their understanding of wind, weather, and water safety. Seasoned Sailors also have the opportunity to venture out on full-day adventure sails. Seasoned Sailing combines time on the water with shore-side STEM activities, making learning both interactive and fun. Sailors gain confidence and pride as their skills grow, moving toward greater independence on the water. Primary Boat: Sail Cube Schedule: 1:00 PM – Rigging & Boat Checks 1:15 PM – Chalk Talk & Snack 1:30 PM – Land Drill & Gear Up 1:45 PM – Sailing! 3:00 PM – Land & Rinse Off 3:30 PM – De-rig & Change 3:45 PM – Debrief 4:00 PM – Goodbye Sailors ACSC will provide US Sailing Level 1–certified instructors, safety boats, sailboats, wetsuits, and life vests. Please Bring: Water shoes, warm layers, sunscreen, water, and a snack.
