About This Activity

Zippy Teen Sailing is a two week full-day camp. Eager for a new challenge? Zippy camp is for current and rising high schoolers who are looking to enhance their skills, either for competitive sailing or just for fun. Review sail trim, maneuvers, racing rules, and proper equipment maintenance before trying exciting new skills like spinnaker and trapeze! Like all of ACSC's programs, expect team-building and leadership games, a STEM activity or two, and an all-around incredible experience. Primary Boat(s): Club Flying Junior (CFJ), Laser, & 420 sailboats. Schedule: 9:30 Morning Game 9:45 Rig & Boat Checks 10:00 Chalk Talk 10:15 Land Drill 10:30 Sunscreen Break & Gear Up 10:45 On-Water Drill & GAME 12:15 Land 12:30 Pick Up 5 Pieces of Trash 12:45 Lunch 1:30 Review AM. Cover PM plan. 1:45 Leave Site 2:00 Go Sailing! 3:15 Land 3:30 Wash Boats & Wetsuits 3:45 De-rig & Change 4:00 Snack & Sunscreen Break 4:15 End-of-Day Group Debrief 4:30 Goodbye Sailors ACSC Provides: US Sailing Level 1–certified instructors, safety boats, sailboats, wetsuits, and life vests. We offer optional AM and PM Extended Care. Bring: Water shoes, warm layers, sunscreen, water, and a lunch.
