Athens Academy is excited to offer an age-appropriate introduction to strength and conditioning for 6th–8th grade students who do not have an existing conflict with an AA team sport. This class introduces proper training techniques, helps students build foundational strength safely, and encourages healthy habits that support confidence, physical development, and overall wellness. Sessions are designed in alignment with NSCA (National Strength & Conditioning Association) guidelines for youth training and are intended to prepare students for success in future athletics and lifelong fitness. Location: Athletic Performance Center, Middle School Gymnasium Time: 3:20–4:15 PM (students not picked up by 4:30 transition to Extended Day) Pick-Up: Upper Middle School Turnaround Instructor: Coach Bryan Pulliam, CSCS, RSCC*E About the Instructor: Coach Pulliam serves as Athens Academy’s Strength & Conditioning Department Chair for Upper and Middle School and brings more than 20 years of professional experience in performance training. He is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist and Registered Strength & Conditioning Coach Emeritus through the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA), and has previous experience with the University of Georgia Football Strength & Conditioning staff. Coach Pulliam is a frequent guest lecturer for the UGA Strength & Conditioning graduate program and has been recognized nationally for program excellence, including multiple NSCA “Strength of America” awards and the College Football Playoff Foundation’s Extra Yard for Teachers Award.
