About This Activity
No experience necessary. Our certified instructors will get you out on the water sailing our Pixel & Opti sailboats and on your way to having fun fast. This course was previously offered as separate Beginner and Advanced Beginner classes. Sailors will be exposed to basic sailing skills such as: parts of the boat, basic knots, tacking & gybing, points of sail, and rules of the road. Emphasis is placed on safety, terminology, fundamentals of small boat handling, and seamanship through classroom work and on-the-water activities. All classes are taught by Certified US Sailing Instructors. Our Teen Advanced Beginner class is geared toward ages 12-17. You must have basic swimming skills. Well fitting personal flotation device (PFD) and closed toe shoes must be worn during each class.
