Role Playing is a game in which players assume the roles of characters in a fictional setting and further act out that character's narrative either through literal acting or through structured decision-making on a board game. In this class, Don Basham will cover a wide variety of role playing and board games, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of each. He will also discuss where you can purchase games, how to setup, and of course how to play! Games that will be covered in this course: Role Playing Games: pen and paper old school, real/digital dice, fantasy games (D&D, D&D Beyond, Pathfinder, Delta World, Runequest, Savage Worlds), space games (Traveller), horror games (Chill), superhero games (Palladium Games, Champions, Villains and Vigilantes), virtual table top games (Fantasy Grounds, Roll20, The Foundry, OwlBear Rodeo), and above virtual table top games, as time permits. Strategic Board Games: Diplomacy, Swords & Sails, Divine Right, Gunslinger, Lucky Shot Fun Family and Small Group Games: Redneck Life, Trailer Park Wars, Relative Insanity, Cards Against Humanity, Oops My Bad, and Mille Bornes (The class will also discuss how to make the listed games more family friendly so all ages can play.)
