Are you a budding artist ready to explore your creative potential? Then check out this fun and unique watercolor painting camp. Campers will learn to create with basic composition, shapes, forms, value, texture and light, but most importantly the amazing effects of watercolors. Project will be assigned based on student age and skill level.
Students registered for both morning and afternoon sessions can stay at the Center during lunch break.
All guidance and tips will be provided by Shirley Lim (artist/instructor).
Week 1: 6/22 to 6/26
- Morning ONLY 9am-12pm
- Theme: Still Life - Learn the basics of creating shapes and forms through observation of 3D objects displaying in front of students.
Week 2: 7/6 to 7/10
- Morning 9am-12pm | Theme: In The Garden - Explore the wildlife, flora and fauna in our own backyard.
- Afternoon 1pm - 4pm | Theme: Famous Places - Learn basic perspective, create breathtaking landscapes and buildings around the world
Week 3: 7/20 to 7/24
- Morning 9am-12pm | Theme: Let's Go To The Zoo - Create an open-range zoo, let different animals roam freely in the park.
- Afternoon 1pm - 4pm | Theme: Fictional Characters - Learn to paint faces and figures, understand basic proportions and scales.
Week 4: 8/3 to 8/7
- Morning 9am-12pm | Theme: Four-Legged Friends - Paint colorful fur babies or strong muscular mammals.
- Afternoon 1pm - 4pm | Theme: Feathered Friends - Discover the extraordinary shapes and colors of birds, design an imaginary habitat.
Watercolor Camps will be held in the small room at the Mission Blue Center.
