This workshop is for aspiring students who want to create their own stories through moving pictures. Students will learn the basics of storytelling, characters, and structure as well as test the various genres. They’ll plan, cast, direct, and wear all the hats needed to finish a film. Most importantly, they will experience how powerful their perspectives can be. Each week, students become filmmakers to make their own stories, based on a theme, come to life from start to finish. Each following week, we will screen the films, discuss their challenges, and find solutions while learning about constructive feedback. By the semester’s end, students will have a foundation of work to be proud of and hopefully showcase to family and friends. Bring out the popcorn! Please note that this is not a technical skills class. Students will learn by doing.
