About This Activity
Description
Participant age 6-14 will be in the water to learn the fundamentals of swimming without parental assistance. Based on the registration questions, your child will be placed in a 30-minute swim or stroke school: white, red, yellow, blue, and green. Elementary swim school testing includes jumping in the water and rolling on back for five seconds, jump into the water swim 10 feet and return, back glide 10 feet, treading water for 15 seconds, jumping in and recovering to side glide position, and kick 10 feet. Stroke school testing includes jumping into the water, swimming 30 feet and freestyle with rhythmic breathing, swimming 30 feet of freestyle and backstroke with proficient stroke mechanics, swimming butterfly for 10 feet with proficient stroke mechanics, swim 30 feet of breaststroke with proficient stroke mechanics. Swim Lesson Session 3 - Due to the 4th of July Session 3 swim lesson will be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday of the first week. The second week will be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
