Lessons will be on Tuesdays 11 a.m. - 11:45 a.m., starting June 9th in the Piano Lab FA 148 at NEIU.
This fun and engaging group piano class is designed especially for complete beginners! Students will be introduced to the piano in a supportive and interactive environment, learning the fundamentals of music while building confidence at the keyboard.
Throughout the 7-week session, students will learn:
- Proper hand position and basic piano technique
- Note reading (treble and bass clef)
- Rhythm fundamentals and counting
- Basic musical symbols and terminology
- Simple songs using both hands
- Listening skills and musical expression
Classes will include a mix of individual playing, group activities, and music games to make learning enjoyable and effective. Students will also have opportunities to play duets and develop ensemble skills, helping them feel comfortable making music with others.
This class is the perfect starting point for young beginners and provides a strong foundation for future piano study.
