About This Activity

Description

LaunchPad: PreACT Secure 9 Bootcamp

This bootcamp is designed for rising 8th graders preparing for the PreACT Secure 9 high-school entrance exam.
Rising 7th graders are also welcome as well as rising 9th graders who need a little extra preparation before the PreACT.

This week is designed as a supportive environment that includes targeted practice, strategy drills, and mini-assessments that turn test-day nerves into game-day confidence. Participants will get hands-on experience with the TestNav digital testing platform and build familiarity with the PreACT Secure 9 format.

The schedule will include:

Mon - English Review, group learning activity, and timed English practice test with feedback

Tues - Math Review, group learning activity, and timed practice Test in Math with feedback

Wed - Reading Review, group learning activity and timed practice Test in Reading with feedback

Thurs - Science Review, group learning activity, and timed practice with feedback

Friday - full practice test online (2.5 hours) followed by post-test refreshments

Students are encouraged to bring their own laptop and can bring an approved ACT calculator, however, we will be practicing with the Desmos online calculator that is provided in the digital test.

Led by Christie Miller and NEIU current students or alumni.
