About This Activity
Description
At this level, students should be able to fully submerge their faces for 3 seconds while blowing bubbles and open their eyes underwater to pick up submerged objects. In addition, students should be able to float on their front and back, mostly unassisted. This course focuses on swimming on their front using arm and leg actions. Students will also learn how to enter and exit the pool independently using the ladder, steps, or side of the pool, along with basic water safety. Progressing students will be able to independently float and kick using equipment, submerge underwater, use a lifejacket, and start an exploration of hand and leg movements.
