Preschool Aquatics teaches aquatic and safety skills in a logical progression. Children entering this course must have a PS I certificate or be able to demonstrate all of the completion requirements from PS I. The objectives of PS II are to build upon the skills learned in PS I and give children success with fundamental skills. Children learn to float on their back without support and to recover to a vertical position. This course marks the beginning of true locomotion skills. Children continue to explore simultaneous and alternating arm and leg actions on front and back to lay the foundation for futre strokes. PS II adds to the self-help and basic rescue skills begun in PS I.
On the weekend of University of Iowa home football games, class will be held on Sunday at the same scheduled time.
Saturdays: Oct. 19, Nov. 9, 16
