The four-week Summer Math Institute provides students exposure to a variety of math concepts based on an overarching theme. Students will be exposed to as many topics each week as is achievable in a fun and interactive experience. In this particular week, centered around Proportions and Probability, students will work on concepts such as whole number operations, equivalent fractions, solving proportions using cross products, setting up and solving word problems involving proportions, setting up and solving problems involving scale drawings, counting methods and tree diagrams, basic probability, the fundamental counting principle, probability of independent and dependent events, fair and unfair games, and fraction/decimal review. Participation in multiple weeks is encouraged.
