About This Activity
The Summer Writing Institute will include a thematic approach to writing to include creative writing, argumentative/persuasive writing, and memoir/personal statement writing. The depth and focus of courses taught will vary according to grade level to achieve grade-appropriate instruction and challenge. Imagine what writing skills you will gain after spending up to three weeks in our Summer Writing Institute! Participation in multiple weeks is encouraged. Creative Writing Students will learn the basics of writing short stories and poetry during this week-long writing workshop. Students will write their own pieces of fiction, learn how to give substantive feedback to peers, and apply feedback from instructors and peers. Students should bring a writing notebook and pencil/pen of their choice.
