Learn-to-Swim Level 6—Fitness Swimmer Level 6 focuses on refining strokes and turns and building endurance. Exit Skills Assessment When participants complete Learn-to-Swim Level 6—Fitness Swimmer, they have an understanding of how to incorporate fitness swimming, aquatic exercise or both into a fitness program, and are working to improve their level of fitness. In addition, they demonstrate effectiveness and efficiency in all strokes. They are able to swim continuously while using the appropriate turns for the stroke. They also have a solid understanding about how to be safe in, on and around the water.
- Swim 500 yards continuously using any 3 strokes, swimming at least 50 yards of each stroke.
- Perform the Cooper 12-minute swim test, and compare results with the pre-assessment results. (Swim for 12 minutes to cover the greatest distance possible, using whatever stroke is preferred. Rest as necessary, but go as far as possible.)

Classes that do not meet the minimum enrollment of 2 students will be canceled. Students should bring a suit and towel.
PLEASE NOTE: To receive a membership discount for pool programs, a Pool Membership transaction must be completed PRIOR to enrolling in swimming activities.
