Description
YMCA Sports of All Sorts - Ages 3-5Our sports programs emphasize fun, safety and positive, equal play. Sports of All Sorts introduces youth to a variety of sports and skill sets to build confidence at the next level. Experience the Y Sports difference where we emphasize each participant's time with high repetitions and with detailed instruction. Each session will include a warm-up, character topic, designated skill focus and fun skills application game.
YMCA Sports of All Sorts participants will grow in the following essential skills:
Week 1: Soccer - footwork, passing, shootingWeek 2: Basketball - dribbling, passing, shootingWeek 3: Flag football - passing, running/footworkWeek 4: Tee-ball - running bases, throwing, catching, batting techniquesWeek 5: Bowling - arm swing, footwork, timing, release, finishing positionWeek 6: Kickball - running bases, kicking, catching, batting techniquesWeek 7: Floor hockey - stopping, passing, shooting, stickhandlingWeek 8: Volleyball - basic serving, setting, spiking skillsWeek 9: Players' favorite games
Activities are adapted to age-appropriate equipment and movements that most closely introduce children to the enjoyment of the respective sport.
