About This Activity
Description
YMCA Volleyball Skills (Grades 11-14) - ClinicSummer special! 4-day clinic features our popular Volleyball Skills program in an abbreviated format that fits your family's active summer schedule. This is an ideal low-commitment introduction to a team setting, to try a new sport or to play more of your favorite sport. Excellent preparation in advance of middle school volleyball tryouts in fall.
Did you know? The Y invented volleyball in 1895 and serves over 1 million youth sports participants annually. Our sports programs emphasize fun, safety and positive, equal play. The Beginner Volleyball Skills Academy helps youth learn and hone fundamentals to feel confident in game play. Experience the Y Sports difference where we emphasize each participant's time with the ball, high repetitions and inclusive game play. Each session will include a warm-up, character topic, designated skill focus, tactical development and integration of the session's lessons into game play. Beginner Academy is designed for youth with less than one year of volleyball experience.
YMCA Beginner Volleyball Skills Clinic participants will grow in the following essential skills: spiking, overhead passing, forearm passing, hitting, transitioning to the attack, setting, set-hit combination, overhand serving, free-ball defense, digging, passing to the setter, game play tactics and implementation and more.
