About This Activity
Being a Day Camp Assistant is the first step in becoming a Camp Fire Minnesota Teen Leader. DCAs spend the first half of the week in team building activities and interactive leadership training with lead camp staff. Trainings include behavior management, leading songs and games, and basic counselor skills. In the second part of the week, DCAs partner with camp counselors to assist with day camp groups. DCAs come to camp in the morning and leave in the afternoon each day. Camp Fire Minnesota's Leadership Development Program is designed to progressively transform campers into counselors. At each level, dedicated and trained counselors guide our budding leaders in activity planning, group management, skill facilitation, and more! This progressive program instills confidence, inspires courage and kindness, and develops empathy and leadership. Monday-Friday Check-in: 8:30-9:00am Check-out: 4:00-4:30pm Closing Ceremony: Friday, 4:00pm (Before & After Care available – registration required)
