About This Activity

Description

FOr riders that want more experience and time on the trails these summer sessions will add an additional ride each week. The requirements for this ride are, all participants must be able to ride a bike confidently and without assistance. This mountain bike ride is for ages 7– 17 years of age and welcomes male, female, and non-binary participants. Riders must have the basic fundamental skills and awareness needed for safe and enjoyable mountain biking. This means that they can confidently ride a bike and will be comfortable riding on a dirt road or through grassy fields. This ride is intended to develop a community for youth mountain biking allowing all ages and ability to ride together. All rides will be divided into groups by riding abilities, with instruction at all levels. All older and experienced riders will be expected to apply good leadership skills and conduct while riding and socializing with younger more novice riders. This ride will develop:• Mountain bike fundamentals and development beyond, depending on riders' ability• Teach leadership and stewardship of the trail systems we ride on• How to work and ride as a group with responsible behavior, diversity of skills, and safety• Most importantly having fun in the outdoorsAll participants in each program will need:1. A helmet that fits properly2. Working tuned up a bike or mountain bike3. No open-toed shoes or baggy clothing4. A follow-up email will be sent to all participants to give more detailed information about each session and what the participant needs to bring.
